Bill Pease, CKD, President / Owner

 “Each project I design is taken from the standpoint that this remodeling was happening in my own home. That is truly the amount of care and consideration I put into each project.”

Custom Kitchen Bath Center owner and President, Bill Pease, CKD and General Contractor, has been working in the Kitchen and Bath Industry for over a quarter of a century! His experience is in construction, drafting, kitchen / bathroom design, home remodeling and computer-aided design. Over the years, Bill has continued to hone his industry knowledge through classes and education offered through the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). In 1985, Bill attained his CKD status.

Free time? When Bill finds a moment or two, he takes off with golf clubs or fishing pole in tow. Closer to home, he enjoys puttering in his garden. He is also a former member of the Fremont, California City Council as well as the Chamber of Commerce.

Marge Ling, CKD, CBD, Designer

 Just like the mysteries she loves to read in her spare time, designer Marge Ling, CKD, CBD loves to uncover the truth behind what the homeowner is searching for in their design.

“I design spaces to function well based on the client’s lifestyle. Then, I assist them in expressing their aesthetic tastes and personalities.”

For almost 15 years, Marge has been designing kitchens and bathrooms. In 1994, she attained her CKD status, and in 1995, after studying hard again, she passed the rigorous testing for her CBD (Certified Bath Designer). 

Marge is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and a graduate of the University of Minnesota.


What are CKDs and CBDs

 

Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDs) and Certified Bathroom Designers (CBDs) specialize in the design, planning and execution of kitchens, bathrooms and other built-in units throughout the home. Only a select group of expert designers attain the CKD and/or CBD designation(s).

 

 

CKDs and CBDs, while an integral part of the interior design profession, are also distinctly different because of their specialization of practice. Similar to general interior design practitioners, CKDs and CBDs must meet common core educational requirements, adhere to various legal restrictions and regulations in practice, and follow a professional code of ethics. However, beyond these basic core commonalties, distinct differences exist because of the nature of the space to be designed and close relationship with the client.

 

 

The planning of kitchen and bathroom spaces requires unique design skills and knowledge because of the highly technical nature of the equipment incorporated into them, and the personal way that these environments affect the user. The CKD and/or CBD is competent beyond the minimum interior design qualifications of federal and state (provincial) legal codes and requirements. CKDs/CBDs prove advanced knowledge of technical and personal communication skills required to succeed as a design specialist in residential kitchen, bathroom and other built-in environments.
